Belacharl, a young Tiefling, entered the town of Sandpoint on the eve of the Swallowtail festival, a festival dedicated to the consecration of the towns new temple. Already in the town were Chaine “Senestro” Chemzoen, a stage magician and ladies man; Lingering Dust of Ancient stars, a stoic and grim faced Shanti Ranger; Rumar the Fisher, a local fisherman and inquisitor of Abadar and Allesandra, a human paladin from Shieldwall. As the festival evening went on, a Goblin army attacked he town, and the 5 unlikely heroes were drawn together to help fend them off. During the fray, a glowing Assimar named Meakou appeared in a bolt of lightning to join the fray. The town was saved, and the group soon became local heroes. They discovered that a body had been taken from the local cemetery, that of Ezakien Tobyn, but the reasons why remain unclear. Senestro becomes involved with Shayliss Vender, a local shopkeepers daughter, and narrowly avoids the furies of her father. While this cools Senestros interests, Shayliss remains keen on the young Rogue. The party is invited on a boar hunt by Aldern Foxglove, a noble from a nearby estate who was visiting the town, and whom the group saved from Goblins. Aldern seems to take a keen liking to Allessandra, which appears to make Dust a bit jealous (Much to his seeming surprise). However the hunt goes well, and the locals find even more favour in the PC’s enjoying a hearty feast off their success. The group is allowed to stay for free in the Rusty Dragon as thanks for their efforts, and they soon become friends with Ameiko Kaijitsu, a former adventurer and current pub owner. They witness an altercation between Ameiko and her father Longiku Kaijitsu, an elderly local aristocrat. They don’t understand all that is said, but are aided by a new stranger, Jak Jak a Tengu monk and wanderer. He soon joins the group when they hear screams in the night, and discover that some Goblins had remained hiding in the town, and had killed a local family. A few days later the group is invited to the mayors office. They are told by a local elf ranger, Shalelu Andosana, that the various local goblin tribes have gathered together, which is very unusual. Sheriff Belor Hemlock, the local town Watch leader, has left with some men to go and request help from the soldiers at Magnimar, and will be away several days. He asks the PC’s to help look after the town in his absence. Not long after his departure, Bethana, the local barmaid, comes and tells the group that Ameiko has gone missing. They track her to the local Glassworks, and fight their way through some Goblins hiding there to the caverns beneath. They capture Tsuto Kaijitsu, Ameiko’s brother, and discover he is in league with a supposedly dead local girl named Nualia, who is half assamir, but has fallen and become a demon. The group enters the catacombs of Wrath, ancient chambers once controlled by one of the ancient Thassilonians known as The Runelord Alaznist. They close the Runewell here, but also encounter a mysterious cave. Inside they find the spirit of an ancient Shoanti, who tells the group they are prophesised heroes known as the Kahu Ola “The Guardians.” He gives each a special magical device to each member of the group. Allesandra and Dust begin their romance, and Jak Jak becomes a formal member of the group. Meakou has started drinking heavily by this time. After closing the catacombs the group move on to the small keep of Thistletop, where the Goblin armies have massed. Hey fight their way down, killing many Goblins along the way. However they spare 3; Squigley, his mother Bey’Ogley and her Hobgoblin partner Bruthazmus. The three leave and as far as the PC’s are concerned, were never seen again. They fight their way through Nualias shrine to Lamashtu, a dark God, and down to Nualias chambers, where he is killed, ending the threat to Sandpoint. However as the group makes ready to leave, they encounter another room where the Barghest demon Malfeshnekor has been imprisoned. They defeat the demon, but the party is swept through a mysterious portal, which closes behind them.
